Following Up on emails about event for Ellen

Dear Committee,

I am back on this side of the country.  What an incredible time this is for all.  Jill and Traci, what a hard decision you had to make, but the right one.  It will be fascinating to see the virtual auction.

I have created this blog for us to communicate rather than email.  I think it may be easier to keep track of our discussions.
In terms of plans for Ellen:
The clear sentiment after Lyn’s discussion with Development and her note to me is that we just do a Board dinner in conjunction with the Board meeting on June 9th to show our appreciation to Ellen.

My thought is to cancel our reservation with the Museums on the Green.  Ellen, can you do that? I will let the caterers know we have a change in plans.
Then we can discuss where we might hold the dinner.  A restaurant with a private room may make the most sense and will be easier for sure and perhaps less expensive. I will make some inquiries so we will have some data when we do meet.
Joanne, I guess you can cancel our arrangement with the A cappella group.
I am still waiting to hear back from Jane and Corinne so hope we will have their ideas when we meet.

Our agenda moving forward, assuming Alan, you want us to continue as a committee, will be where to hold the dinner, whom to invite, what the program if any will be, and what the gift will be.

I think we all feel strongly that Ellen deserves a special time where we can show our appreciation as a Board for what she has meant to FEF.  What tributes occur in the future are not for us to decide.  We will focus on the June meeting right now and make sure she leaves that evening feeling the love!

Please respond here with your thoughts.  We can set up a meeting in person or via phone if we need to.
